The maltings stopped work in 1981 and has been empty since. It is listed, it leaks, and two developers have walked away from it. We bought it in 2026 with Vantage Capital and a conservation officer on the team from the first week.
The kiln stays. The loading doors on the north elevation stay and become the entrances to six workshops at ground level, with flats in the grain floors above.
What we kept
Ninety per cent of the existing structure retained, including the kiln.
